The bar in-between the top and bottom number actually translates to "top number divided by bottom number

I'd probably have an easier time dividing them all into decimals before I solved the problems. Unfortunately, that would not help my sister.

But yes, fractions are so stupid. The only time I ever use them is when I cook, and even then it's not like I need to know how to divide or multiply them.
